What is the TUM Business Game?
The TUM Business Game is a 2-days case competition event, with 80 selected students competing in teams of two over four challenges, provided by our corporate partners.
Throughout the 2 days of the Business Game, you will build a team of two with a fixed partner, with whom you work together on all 4 cases. Students either apply in teams of two right away or apply individually and get assigned a partner prior to the Business Game.
The challenges are cases, based on real-life problems our corporate partners are facing. Each corporate partner provides one case and overviews its preparation by giving advice to the participants. One case is prepared by a team of four students, i.e. two teams get assigned to each other. The teams have three hours to prepare one case, whereafter they present their ideas to a jury of three jury members, with corporate and academic jurors. For every case, each team gets assigned another team, forming a new team of four.
After the four challenges have been pitched, the best teams of two are selected by accumulating the ratings from each case pitch. Our premium partner provides the best teams with an additional challenge, the eloquence challenge, which builds on the last case. The teams have 30 minutes to prepare the eloquence pitch, which they have to perform on-stage in front of all participants and a jury of all corporate partners.
The Additional Program
Apart from getting real-life case exposure, participants will have the opportunity to engage in various activities throughout the 2 days. Before kicking off the case preparations on Friday, a case pratice is provided on Thursday, followed by company presentations and getting-to-know dinner with our four corporate partners. Parallel to the cases on both Friday and Saturday, our participants will have to perform non-case related tasks targeted at personal development as well as networking with both corporates and fellow students. The event will be closed with an award ceremony and dinner, followed by our notorious after-party.
Our partners are leading companies from different branches, such as consulting, industry as well as start-ups. Partners for our 2019 edition will be announced soon. For more information on our partners from last years, visit Partners.
